Limited Site Investigation
Vacant Property I Tracy, California lerracon
May 26, 2023 1 Terracon Project No. NA197074B
At the time of drilling, groundwater was observed at the following depth listed in feet
bgs:
Groundwater Depth Groundwater Depth
Boring ID After Well
Observed During Drilling
Completion
SB18 58.5 58.5
Groundwater samples were collected at location SB18 and sample containers were
labeled with the project number, date, time, and sample number and placed in a chilled
cooler immediately after sampling. The sample containers were subsequently
transported to SunStar Laboratories, Inc., under strict chain-of-custody procedures.
At the completion of sampling activities, and in accordance with the SJC-EHD guidelines,
the borings were backfilled using neat cement from the bottom of the borings to just
below grade surface using a pipe placed in the borings. The piping was removed from
the borings following backfilling and the borings were backfilled at the surface with soil
to match the existing surface.
3.5 Geology
In general, Terracon encountered primarily silt and silt with sand to a total explored
boring depth of 60 feet bgs. First identified groundwater was encountered in an
unconfined water-bearing zone at a depth of approximately 58 feet bgs. Soil boring logs
are included in Appendix C.
4.0 Laboratory Analytical Methods
The chain of custody forms in Appendix D indicate the sample names, dates and times
collected, containers, and the requested target analytes and analytical methods.
Selected soil and groundwater samples were analyzed for the following:
Total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) as gasoline range organics (GRO), TPH as
diesel range organics (DRO), and TPH as motor-oil range organics (ORO) by
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Method 80156; and,
' Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) by EPA Method 8260B.
Data packages were checked for completeness upon receipt from the laboratory to
ensure that data and quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) information requested
were present. Data quality was assessed by considering holding times, surrogate
recovery, method blanks, matrix spike and matrix spike duplicate recovery, and method
Facilities I Environmental I Geotechnical I Materials 9
