WORK PLAN FOR ADDITIONAL SITE INVESTIGATION Irerracon
Vacant Property Tracy, California
April 16, 2021 Terracon Project No. NA197074B
2.2.1 Pre-Mobilization Activities
The following activities will be completed as part of this Work Plan in preparation for the field
activities:
Terracon has a commitment to the safety of all its employees. As such, and in accordance with
our Incident and Injury Free® safety culture, Terracon will develop a Project Safety Plan to be
used by our personnel during field services. Prior to commencement of on-site activities, Terracon
will hold a tailgate safety meeting to review site-specific job hazards and health and safety needs
for this specific project. In addition, prior to engaging in new on-site activities or tasks, we will re-
evaluate potential job hazards and appropriate safe working procedures as part of our Pre-Task
Planning process. At this time, we anticipate performing fieldwork in a Level D work uniform
consisting of hard hats, safety glasses, protective gloves, and steel-toed boots. It may become
necessary to upgrade this level of protection, at additional cost, while sampling activities are being
conducted in the event that petroleum or chemical constituents are encountered in soils or
groundwater that present an increased risk for personal exposure.
In conjunction with this Work Plan, Terracon shall complete a SJCEHD Site Mitigation Well &
Boring Permit Application upon approval of this Work Plan by CRWQCB-CVR.
Following CRWQCB-CVR approval of this Work Plan, and no later than 72 hours prior to intrusive
activities, Terracon will contact Underground Service Alert (USA) 811 North to arrange for
underground utility locates at the site.
To further evaluate the underground utilities at the site, a geophysical survey will be performed in
the vicinity of each of the proposed sample locations where mechanical drilling will be performed.
Terracon will utilize ground-penetrating radar(GPR)to detect any concealed utilities at each select
sampling location. GPR activities will be completed on or before the first day of planned drilling
activities.
2.2.2 Overview of Field Activities
As an element of this Work Plan, the following field activities will be performed in accordance with
Terracon's best practices and SJCEHD requirements.
Mobilization of a California C-57 licensed drilling contractor and drilling rig equipped with
direct push technology (DPT) and hollow-stem auger drilling capability;
Advancing one soil borings (SB18) to a depth of approximately 60 feet bgs, or 5-feet into
first encountered groundwater at the location shown on Exhibit 3. Up to two soil samples
will be collected in the upper 30-feet bgs, and on groundwater sample will be collected;
Responsive■ Resourceful ■ Reliable 4
