Project Health and Safety Plan <br /> E N 6 1 N E E R I M G Martin Metals Finishing Inc. (Former) <br /> Stockton, California <br /> 1 MISSION AND TEAM MEMBERS <br /> CDIM Engineering, Inc. (CDIM) has been contracted to complete a Preliminary Endangerment <br /> Assessment(PEA)and provide professional services to support Fairground Industrial Park(FIP; the Owner). The <br /> organizations involved include CDIM and the California-licensed drilling company (Driller; PeneCore Drilling, Inc. <br /> or Cascade Drilling). Table 2 lists tasks associated with each organization. <br /> 2 TEAM SAFETY POLICY <br /> It is CDIM's policy to provide a safe, healthful, and productive work environment for all its employees and <br /> subcontractors by systematically integrating occupational health and safety considerations into company-wide <br /> operations. CDIM believes that a systematic approach to health and safety is necessary to reduce preventable <br /> injuries and illnesses. CDIM's management is committed to continually improving the health and safety of our <br /> employees and subcontractors and fostering a work environment supportive of free and open expression of safety <br /> concerns without fear of reprisal. It is CDIM's policy to encourage and empower employees to participate in the <br /> implementation of the Corporate Safety Program (CSP; CDIM, 2018) and to hold employees at all levels <br /> accountable for workplace safety and conformance with the CSP, including the requirements of this Project Health <br /> and Safety Plan (HSP). <br /> 2.1 Code of Safe Practices <br /> • All employees and subcontractors shall follow these safe practices, as well as all the rules and <br /> regulations of the appropriate Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)standards. <br /> This list is intended to highlight key aspects of this HSP. Failure to comply with any aspect of the <br /> HSP will result in disciplinary action. <br /> • No employees or subcontractors shall be allowed to work on any jobsite until they have received <br /> appropriate training and are wearing all necessary Personal Protective Equipment(PPE)(Section <br /> 7) as determined by the Site Health and Safety Officer (SHSO). This may include respiratory, <br /> eye,and hearing protection or personal flotation devices. PPE will be reviewed in the Daily Safety <br /> Tailgate Meetings. <br /> • Report all unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, accidents, injuries, misses and near misses, no matter <br /> how small, to your supervisor. <br /> • Safety meetings are mandatory for all contractors and subcontractors. You must attend. <br /> • Jobsite housekeeping is every employee's responsibility. <br /> • No person, employee or otherwise, shall be allowed on a jobsite when impaired due to <br /> medication, fatigue, illness, alcohol, over-the-counter medication, illegal drugs, or any other <br /> substances or conditions that might affect their alertness. <br /> • All employees shall wear clothing and footwear appropriate to the work. <br /> • All hand and power tools shall be maintained in good condition. Tools should be regularly <br /> inspected. Use the right tool for the job. Follow manufacturer's instructions. <br /> • Lift properly. Try to lift with your legs instead of bending your back.Ask for help with heavy loads. <br /> • Check your ladder before you use it. Make sure the ground that you place your ladder on is level <br /> and stable. Use a ladder that is tall enough for the job. <br /> • Follow electrical safety procedures including Lock Out/Tag Out Procedures. <br /> CDIM—Fairgrounds Industrial Park Page 1 <br />
