COMIM
Project Health and Safety Plan
E N 6 1 N a E R I M G Martin Metals Finishing Inc. (Former)
Stockton, California
This HSP was prepared for the specific Site conditions, purposes, and tasks discussed herein. In the
event that these conditions change, this HSP must be amended, reviewed and accepted by CDIM prior to
implementation. All Site work shall be conducted in compliance with this HSP as well as all applicable laws and
regulations.
3.1 Subcontractor Work Safety Obligation
This HSP establishes general safety requirements and procedures for the protection of project personnel
to prevent injuries, illnesses, and physical damage to equipment, supplies and property. This HSP is to be used
in conjunction with applicable California Division of Occupational Safety and Health (Cal/OSHA) Regulations.
Subcontractors shall develop their own safety plans as needed specific to the work they perform on the project.
Nothing in this HSP shall be constructed as alleviating subcontractor obligation to provide a safe work environment
for their employees.
3.2 Project Description
The Site is located at 1250 South Wilson Way in Stockton, California. The project involves the collection
of shallow soil, subsurface soil, storm drain trench sediment, and subslab soil gas samples at the Site, along the
storm drain network, and in Mormon Slough. Sample locations and sampling protocols are presented in the PEA
and PEA Work Plan dated September 21, 2022 (CDIM, 2022). Samples will be sent to California-certified
laboratories for chemical testing to determine whether the historic release of hazardous materials poses a threat
to human health or the environment. FIP has requested that CDIM provide professional services to support with
the collection of samples. The tasks under this HSP are for the environmental work performed by CDIM and other
involved personnel.
3.3 CDIM and Subcontractor Work Locations
Work will be performed at 19 locations: five locations in the former MMF building, four locations outdoors
in FIP along the storm drain line, and nine locations in Mormon Slough. Those locations are described in Table 1
below.
Table 1.
