C , HSP-6
/1 Infectious Disease Response and Preparedness Plan
""°'"""'"° July 25, 2022
outdoor settings and for activities with close contact with others who are not fully
vaccinated;
o If employees are fully vaccinated, but have a weakened immune system, they may need
to take extra steps to protect themselves, like wearing a mask:
o Fully vaccinated employees can resume activities without wearing a mask or physically
distancing, except where required by federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules,
and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance.
• It is recommended that employees have N95 respirators if they are available
• If properly trained and fit tested, or if their use is otherwise voluntary, employees may wear
N/R/P100 respirators (see Section below)
CDIM will not conduct activities that place them at high risk. If such activities are required, additional
PPE evaluation is required.
6.4 Voluntary Use of Respiratory Protection
Where possible, use an appropriate N/R/P100 respirator or NIOSH-approved, N95 filtering facepiece to
further protect against COVID 19 transmission.
Employees using respiratory protection must follow CDIM HSP-2, Respiratory Protection. HSP-2 outlines
the procedures for wearing a respirator, including fit testing, monitoring for worker stress, user seal checks
and medical monitoring. All respirators and cartridges must be NIOSH-certified. A sufficient number of
respirator models and sizes must be made available so that the respirator is acceptable to (e.g., provides
comfortable fit), and correctly fits9+45 the user.
Training, as described in this HSP and HSP-2, Respiratory Protection, is required whenever respiratory
protection is worn (whether voluntary or required).
6.5 Disinfectants
If proper distancing is applied in low risk work, the likelihood of fomites presenting a risk of infection is very
low. Regardless, household disinfectants can be used to reduce or remove pathogens from fomites that
may be encountered in work environments other than the home. To the extent available, CDIM staff
performing field work should maintain a supply of disinfects and use them to clean any shared equipment
(e.g., GNSS devices, sample tools, etc.). Currently available disinfectants are Lysol disinfectant spray,
Clorox bleach wipes, and hand sanitizer. Disinfectants should be used per their label.
6.6 Preventative Procedures
To help prevent the spread of COVID 19, CDIM employees must apply the following best practices as
applicable to the situation and based on their best judgment.
Distancing
1. Maintain a distance of six feet(in all directions from others)at all times
2. Hold all other meetings virtually
3. Work from home
4. Avoid contact with people who are sick
5. Minimizing social contact unless required for business purposes, i.e., no business lunches
6. Notify their supervisor and stay at home if: they are sick, they have been exposed to someone
who has tested positive for COVID 19, or if they have been told to quarantine
7. Drive to in-person meetings or field sites in separate vehicles
8. Use natural ventilation opportunities when meeting in person
Hygiene
