petroleum hydrocarbons may have impacted the subsurface of the subject
property. Therefore, the presence of the former gasoline service station and
presumed storage of petroleum hydrocarbons in USTs is considered a REC.
4.0 OBJECTIVE
The scope of work is designed to assess if the subject property has been impacted by the
historical use of USTs at the subject property.
4.1 SCOPE OF WORK
A total of 6 direct push borings (SB-1 through SB-6) are proposed to be performed onsite
for the collection of soil samples. Soil samples are proposed to be collected between 14
and 16 feet below ground surface (bgs) from each boring. All borings will be continuously
cored and field-screen for contaminants of concern using a photo-ionize detection meter
(PID). All borings will be logged in accordance with standard geologic procedures by a
qualified geologist or engineer. See Figure 3 for a site map with proposed sample
locations.
The investigation will be carried out in accordance with the Tri-Regional Guidelines
under the supervision of a state of California registered Professional Geologist. All
borings will be advanced by a licensed C-57 contractor.
The scope of work has been divided into 4 tasks as follows:
Task 1 Project setup (underground service alert, permits etc.);
Task 2 Soil Boring, Classification, Field Screening, and Sampling;
Task 3 Chemical Analysis;
Task 4 Technical Report;
A summary of each task follows:
4.1.1 Project Setup
Upon approval of this Work Plan and prior to the initiation of field activities, the
following subtasks will be undertaken:
1. Obtain boring permits from San Joaquin County Environmental Health
Department
2. Mark boring locations and clear for underground utilities.
3. Notify SJCEHD a minimum of 48 hours before scheduled work is to begin
04117124 A&M ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES 2
Work Plan for Site Investigation
1537 N.
