the handrail. The clearance between any handrail and step riser shall be a <br />minimum of 3 inches. (See attachment) <br />5.Depth markers must be provided on both sides of a swimming pool at the <br />shallowest and deepest depths, at all breaks in slope, an on both ends of the <br />pool. Spas must have a minimum of 2 depth markers. Water depth is <br />measured from the floor of the pool to the middle of the waterline tile. <br />Markers should indicate depth to the nearest six inches. Numerals must be a <br />minimum of 4 inches in height. Abbreviations of FT and IN may be used in <br />lieu of feet and inches (4 FT 6 IN not 4 ½ FT) No diving markers with the <br />universal symbol of no diving are required where the water depth 6 feet or <br />less. <br />6.Lighting systems must be checked to comply with sections 116049.1 of the <br />Health and Safety Code. <br />7.Coping that is being replaced must extend over the pool wall 1 to 2 inches <br />and not be thicker than 2 ½ inches. <br />8.All equalizer lines shall be hydraulically balanced and symmetrically <br />plumbed through one or more “T” fittings, and that are separated by a <br />distance of at least 3 feet in any dimension between the drains. Equalizer <br />lines shall be covered with an approved suction cover removable only with <br />tools. <br />9.Wall steps shall be equal to or less than 12” from the top of the deck to the <br />first tread and equal in height of 12” or less from the first tread to the second <br />tread and from the second to the third tread.
