Geosyntec'-'
consultants
4.2 Task Descriptions
Task Hazard Analyses (THAs) associated with these tasks are presented in Appendix B.
Task 1: Treatment System O&M
An O&M contractor and Geosyntec personnel will perform regular system O&M. System O&M
includes but is not limited to GAC Vessel sampling, system bag filter changeouts, conveyance
piping clean-outs, and infrastructure repair.
Task 2: Civil/Mechanical+ Electrical Construction
Presidio Systems Inc. (PSI) has been contracted by Geosyntec for performing construction. The
scope of work includes piping and electrical upgrades of the current extraction and injection
system with limited heavy equipment operation. Geosyntec will oversee the construction
activities.
Task 3:Drilling+ Well Development
Sonic and hollow stem auger and direct push drilling methods may be employed to install wells.
Grab groundwater samples will be collected from the deepest boring in each location in 10 foot
intervals using a bailer, check valve on tubing through temporary well screen, or hydropunch
installed in advance of the rotosonic drill casing and sampler. Following installation, the wells
will be developed. A Geosyntec representative will supervise the drilling activities.
Well redevelopment of existing injection and extraction wells will be conducted by Confluence
Environmental, Inc. (Confluence). Each well will be jetted with potable water and redeveloped
using a pump and surge method. The integrity of the well screen and condition of the well casing
will be documented using a down-well video camera inspection. Additional mechanical
treatment including wire-brushing and additional jetting may be employed if the camera
inspection indicates significant sediment or scaling issues. Purge water generated during well
development activities will be temporarily stored on-Site in frac tanks and processed through the
treatment system.
Task 4:ISCO Infections
ISCO injections will be performed by Gregg Drilling, LLC. (Gregg). A direct-push drill rig will
be used to advance an injection tool with a screened interval to the target aquifer intervals at each
injection location. An injection trailer equipped with flow and pressure instrumentation will be
used to deliver the KMn04 solution. The location of the injection points and actual volume of
KMn04 solution delivered at each injection point may vary based on field conditions during
implementation.
Task S: SVE O&M
A temporary, mobile SVE system is mobilized to the Site on the northern parking lot. Due to Site
access constraints and to limit the impact of SVE operations on Site tenants, the SVE system is
SAC 111 HASP-June 2023 6 6/23/2023
