Phase II Sampling and Analysis Plan SOP-3—Sample Control and Documentation <br /> Port of Stockton-Rail and Bridge,Stockton,CA FN <br /> Corrections to the COC or field data forms will be made by a single line to strike out errors and <br /> annotated with the initials of the editor and date. The correct information will be inserted as <br /> appropriate. <br /> The number of sample containers on the COC should be physically checked against the number of <br /> containers collected. Once this is confirmed the sample crew can properly pack the samples for <br /> shipment. <br /> 5. 1 Start-Up Activities <br /> 5.1 .1 Office <br /> The FTL will work with the Project Chemist (PC)to: <br /> • Coordinate with the analytical laboratory and ensure that sample coolers, packing material, <br /> sample forms, labels, COC forms, and custody seals are shipped to the site. <br /> 5.1 .2 Field <br /> After arrival on site, but prior to commencement of operations, the FTL will confirm that required <br /> documentation and equipment for field activities are on site. <br /> 5.2 Field Operations <br /> 5.2.1 Sample Identification <br /> Individual samples will be identified by a unique alphanumeric code (also referred to as a sample ID <br /> number or field number)which will be written on the sample label and recorded on the COC form. <br /> Project specific details for assigning sample IDS are presented in Section 3.4.1 of the Port of <br /> Stockton Sampling and Analysis Plan. <br /> Labels affixed to sample containers will include the following: <br /> a. Project name; <br /> b. Company name; <br /> c. Sample Identification; <br /> d. Initials of the collector; <br /> e. Date and time of collection; <br /> f. Sample depth; <br /> g. Analysis required; and <br /> h. Preservatives, if any, added. <br /> Field Quality Control (QC) samples to be collected include trip blanks, field blanks, and rinsate <br /> blanks. The ID for trip blanks, field blanks, and rinsate blanks will consist of the prefix TB, FIB, or RB, <br /> respectively. <br /> 5-2 <br />
