Emergency maps contain <br />the following information: <br />• Clearly marked evacuation routes out of the building using directional arrows. <br />• Exits (exits must open to the outside or lead to the ground floor egress point) <br />• Areas of Refuge (if applicable- generally applies to buildings with 2+ floors.) <br />• Shelter in Place locations or storm shelters <br />• Fire Extinguishers <br />• First Aid Kits <br />• AEDs (note: If this location relies on another provider (i.e., mall security) to provide the AED, that <br />should be noted on the map.) <br />• Assembly area outside of the building <br />The following items may not be present in all facilities. If they are present, they should be noted on the <br />emergency map: <br />• Eye Wash stations <br />• Spill Kits <br />• Fire Hydrants <br />• Hazardous Materials <br />• Storm Drains <br />• Water Shutoff <br />• Gas Shutoff <br />• Electrical Panel <br />• Flammables Cabinet <br />• Rescue Hooks <br />• Emergency Showers <br />Emergency maps should be posted throughout the facility, including break rooms, training rooms, near <br />bathrooms, stairwells, elevators, and at all major entries or exits. <br />7 Identify an Emergency <br />An emergency is any situation which threatens the life/safety of Tesla employees, guests, visitors, or <br />customers in the location or may result in significant damage to Tesla property and/or loss of business <br />operations for more than six hours. Employees should always be mindful of their surroundings in the <br />workplace and promptly remediate or report potentially unsafe conditions to prevent emergencies <br />whenever possible. When employees observe an emergency, they should select the most appropriate <br />protective action available to them using their best judgement based on the level of training they received.
