Employees should take the Active Attacker training in Inside.Tesla at least annually. <br />• Employees should review their workspace frequently to identify escape routes and shelter or <br />barricade locations and supplies. <br />• Employees should be prepared to take visitors or customers with them during escape or shelter <br />and barricade actions. <br />12.2 During an Active Attack Event <br />• Tesla personnel must evaluate the emergency and choose the best protective action for their <br />unique circumstances. The most common protection strategies include Run, Hide, and Fight. <br />o Run- Move away from the sound of gunfire or the source of the emergency. Keep <br />buildings and sturdy objects between you and the source of danger. Move away until you <br />are safe and then contact local emergency personnel (call 911.) <br />o Hide- Seek shelter in a sturdy area in the location with few or no windows. Lock the <br />doors, close windows and blinds, turn off lights, and barricade the doors and windows. <br />Silence cellular phones. Take shelter away from the door and walls facing hallways and <br />plan to fight back if necessary. <br />o Fight – Fight back fiercely. Use objects and materials around you to separate the violent <br />actor from the weapon and subdue the attacker. If possible, fight back as a group and <br />attempt to overwhelm the attacker. <br />• Call 911, when you are in a safe location, and report the attack. Do not hang up with 911 until the <br />call taker releases you. If necessary, set the phone down but leave the line open. <br />• Render first aid to those around you if you have training and it is safe to do so. <br />• Remain in a safe location until instructed to move by law enforcement. Follow any instructions <br />issued by law enforcement. <br />• Once you are in a safe location away from the incident, notify the EMROC via phone call or email. <br />12.3 After an Active Attacker Event <br />• Do not return to the facility, or attempt to leave a safe shelter location, until instructed to do so by <br />law enforcement. <br />• Document everything you can remember about the event in writing to provide to law enforcement. <br />• Never speak to the media. Do not post about the event on social media. <br />• The EMROC will assist in accounting for personnel following an active attacker event and may <br />reach out to site managers and site leaders for assistance. If you know employees need help, <br />alert local first responders as soon as safely possible. <br />12.4 Safe Rooms and Lockdown Instructions <br />The safe room areas in this location are: <br />If there are no safe rooms for this location, leave blank.
