Boring Abandonment <br /> All soil borings will be permanently sealed to prevent vertical migration of potential <br /> contaminants. Soil borings shall be abandoned by backfilling with cement grout from the <br /> total depth to surface grade. The top three to six inches of the boring abandonments will <br /> be completed flush to surface grade with native soils or concrete. The SJCEHD will be <br /> notified for grout inspection at least five days prior to conducting grouting procedures. <br /> 3.3. SAMPLE ANALYTICAL PROCEDURES <br /> Selected soil and waste samples (appropriate for each evaluation and chemical source) <br /> and a minimum of ten (10) groundwater samples collected from the observed waste <br /> disposal area, will be analyzed by an ELAP-certified laboratory for the following <br /> constituents: <br /> • Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline, diesel and oil range <br /> compounds (TPH-g/d/o) in accordance with EPA Method 8015 Modified; <br /> • VOCs, including chlorinated VOCs, BTEX compounds and fuel additives/fuel <br /> oxygenates (methyl tertiary butyl ether [MTBE], tertiary butyl alcohol [TBA], di- <br /> isopropyl ether [DIPE], ethyl tertiary butyl ether [ETBE], tertiary amyl methyl ether <br /> [TAME] and lead scavengers 1,2-dichloroethane [1,2-DCA] and 1,2- <br /> dibromomethane [EDB]) in accordance with EPA Method 826013; <br /> • PCBs (full list) in accordance with EPA Method 8082. <br /> • Polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons (PNAs) or polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons <br /> (PAHs) and semi-volatile organic compounds (SVOCs) in accordance with EPA <br /> Method 8270; <br /> • Dioxin and Furan in accordance with EPA Method E1613 and SW8290. <br /> • CAM 17 Metals Total Threshold Limit Concentration (minimally: lead, cadmium, <br /> chromium, nickel and zinc) in accordance with EPA Method 6010B/6020/207/208. <br /> Soluble Threshold Limit Concentration may additionally be analyzed for metals. <br /> Groundwater samples will be analyzed for the following additional constituents: <br /> • Ammonia as Nitrogen in accordance with EPA Method 350.1 . <br /> • Nitrate as Nitrogen in accordance with EPA Method 300. <br /> • Total dissolved solids (TDS) in accordance with EPA Method 160.1 <br /> • Hexavalent chromium in accordance with EPA Method 218.6. <br />
