AECOM <br /> Americas <br /> Newly Hired or Transferred Employees S3AM-015-PR1 <br /> 1.0 Purpose and Scope <br /> 1.1 The purpose of this procedure is to provide direction for the mentoring and oversight of newly hired or <br /> transferred employees. It is understood that proportionally more incidents/injuries occur among less <br /> experienced staff members. The goal is to prevent incidents involving these employees, and to confirm they <br /> have a good understanding of the AECOM Safety for Life Program and Behavior-Based Safety(BBS) <br /> expectations. <br /> 1.2 This procedure applies to all AECOM Americas based employees and operations and any other entity and <br /> its personnel contractually required to comply with this document's content. <br /> 2.0 Terms and Definitions <br /> 2.1 Short Service Employee(SSE)-SSEs are those who have been newly hired or transferred to a different <br /> position in the company(e.g., one with new and possibly unfamiliar hazards and safe operating procedures). <br /> 3.0 References <br /> 3.1 S3AM-007-PR1 Behavior Based Safety <br /> 4.0 Procedure <br /> 4.1 Roles and Responsibilities <br /> 4.1.1 Manager <br /> • Confirm implementation of this program where applicable. <br /> • Identify Short-Service Employees (SSEs)in their groups. If an employee is designated as an <br /> SSE,the manager shall assign mentor to that person. <br /> • Work with the SSE's mentor to designate someone on the field team to provide additional <br /> supervision and guidance during the time they are considered an SSE. <br /> 4.1.2 Mentors <br /> ■ Confirm SSEs understand what training is required, are familiar with AECOM SH&E program, <br /> and know how to access various resources. <br /> • Be available to answer safety-related questions and concerns from the SSEs they are <br /> mentoring. <br /> ■ Work with the managers to identify an experienced field team member to provide temporary <br /> mentorship, oversight and guidance to SSEs during field activities. NOTE: The mentor may fill <br /> this role when working on the same field project with the SSE. <br /> 4.1.3 Employees <br /> ■ Comply with this procedure and complete any required training. <br /> ■ As applicable, subcontractors will comply with this procedure and complete any required <br /> training. <br /> 4.2 SSE Designation <br /> 4.2.1 An employee may be designated as an SSE.The requirements of this procedure will be applicable <br /> to a designated SSE, based on the following SSE Status Schedule: <br /> Short Service Employees(S3AM-015-PR1) <br /> Revision 2 July31,2019 <br /> PRINTED COPIES ARE UNCONTROLLED.
