Please also refer to <br /> S3AM-306-ATT4 Safe Work Practices for Roadway Workers. <br /> • Personal protective equipment:Traffic vests, safety glasses, and high visibility clothing should always be worn to <br /> increase visibility but rarely, if ever, solely relied upon as a protective measure for moving traffic. <br /> Responsibilities <br /> 3.1 Manager or Supervisor <br /> • Verify development and administration of the procedures, communication methods, and the measures and <br /> configuration of the temporary traffic control zone in accordance with specifications for workers, motorists, and <br /> pedestrians, and the protection ofAECOM employees. Please also refer to S3AM-306-ATT1 Protective Devices <br /> for Temporary Traffic Control. <br /> • Confirm the SH&E Plan,Traffic Control Plan, and as applicable,the Traffic Protection Plan are developed and <br /> communicated to all involved and affected employees. <br /> • Confirm compliance with the SH&E Plan,Traffic Control Plan,Traffic Protection Plan (if applicable), and this <br /> procedure. <br /> • Confirm compliance with jurisdictional requirements and guidance governing highway and road work. <br /> • Confirm site-specific or client-required safety training is completed and documented for all assigned Roadway <br /> Workers. <br /> • Confirm employees assigned to work zones are trained in safe work practices and the use of traffic control <br /> systems, communication systems, and PPE. Please also refer to S3AM-306-ATT3 Safe Work Practices for <br /> Roadway Workers. <br /> • Lead inspections or investigations, as appropriate. <br /> • Identify the Competent Person and, as applicable,Traffic Control Engineer for the project. <br /> 3.2 Flag Person <br /> • Comply with the applicable SH&E Plan,Traffic Control Plan, and Traffic Protection Plan (if applicable), and with <br /> communication requirements. <br /> • Maintain training and competency in traffic control and flagging procedures. <br /> • Receive and communicate specific instructions clearly,firmly, and courteously to other Roadway Workers and <br /> the public. <br /> • Maintain alertness at their points of duty until relieved.
