5.4 Project Planning <br /> 1. Contact a licensed waste disposal subcontractor to discuss waste characterization <br /> needs and schedule waste pickup. <br /> 2. Contact laboratory to discuss project schedule and sample containers for waste <br /> characterization analyses required. <br /> 3. Confirm IDW storage location with the Port. <br /> 5.5 Field implementation <br /> I. Consolidate soil and liquid waste in subcontractor provided, DOT-approved <br /> drums with a non-hazardous drum label, and stored in a location approved by the <br /> Port. <br /> 2. Immediately label container with its contents, source, generation date, and contact <br /> phone number. <br /> 3. Collect soil and aqueous waste characterization samples using clean sampling <br /> implements.All sample containers will be clearly labeled,securely sealed,placed <br /> in sample coolers and preserved on ice at approximately 4°C (+/-2°C). Samples <br /> will be delivered to a laboratory under standard chain of custody protocol. <br /> Additional details regarding sample collection are included in the QAPP. <br /> 4. Use analytical results to coordinate waste disposal in a proper location with a <br /> licensed waste disposal subcontractor,within 90 days of receipt of analytical data. <br /> 16 <br />
