Geosptec°
consultants
• At Site 4, samples will be collected from three locations (SW-01, SW-02, and
SW-05).
• In the Landfill Area, samples will be collected at two locations(SW-06, SW-07).
Table 8 provides a summary of the surface water sampling plan. The surface water
samples will be collected following the SOP described in Appendix I, and in accordance
with the QAPP (Appendix H). Based on the results of surface water sampling, routine
monitoring of surface water may be proposed for future monitoring events. The surface
water results and proposed future surface water sampling will be provided to DTSC and
the RWQCB in the 2018 Annual Groundwater Monitoring Report for review and
approval.
6.3 Extent of VOCs in Groundwater
The EVS® modeling identified several areas at RRI where the lateral and/or vertical
extent of VOCs in groundwater have not been defined by existing data. The following
data gaps were identified based on the existing data:
• Site 4 western extent of VOCs in groundwater.
• Site 4 vertical extent of VOCs in groundwater downgradient of monitoring well
W-004.
• Site 3 western extent of VOCs in groundwater north of the drainage channel.'
Historically monitoring wells defined the extent of VOCs in this area; however,
many of these wells have been damaged or destroyed and can no longer be
sampled.
• Site 3 vertical extent of VOCs in groundwater near monitoring well W-002.
• Central Area connection or lack thereof of the detections of VOCs in groundwater
at 816-MW2, W-302, and W-300. Based on the currently-available data, it is
unknown if the detections at these wells are part of a single connected
groundwater plume or are isolated impacts.
e A Draft Work Plan for Well Abandonment,Repair and Installation at Site 3 was previously provided to
DTSC and the RWQCB(ERS,2015).The data gaps investigation described in this GMWP supersedes the
previous Site 3 draft work plan.
RRI Groundwater Monitoring Work Plan 27 1 June 2018
