A. Contractor shall minimize the generation of dust and other airborne particles. <br /> B. Demolition equipment shall have noise suppression devices. <br /> C. Water shall not be used in a manner that creates dangerous or objectionable <br /> conditions such as flooding, erosion, overspray, or sedimentation in nearby <br /> ditches or streams. Stormwater shall be contained and managed as required by <br /> Laws and Regulations. <br /> D. If underground fuel storage tanks, asbestos, PCBs, contaminated soils, or any <br /> other hazardous materials are encountered, the affected demolition work shall be <br /> stopped and Engineer and City notified promptly. <br /> E. Promptly remove equipment and materials not designated for reuse or salvage <br /> and all waste and debris resulting from demolition operations. Dispose of <br /> removed equipment, materials, waste, and debris in a manner that conforms to — <br /> applicable Laws and Regulations. <br /> 3.03 BACKFILL OF STRUCTURES AND EXCAVATIONS — <br /> A. Backfill of excavations and structures shall be in accordance with Section 02200 <br /> Earthwork. — <br /> B. Materials from the demolition work shall not be used for backfill unless approved <br /> by Engineer. — <br /> 3.04 DEMOLITION OF ELECTRICAL FACILITIES <br /> A. Demolition of electrical facilities shall be in accordance with applicable codes and — <br /> standards for electrical construction. <br /> B. Electrical removals consist of disconnecting and removing existing switchgear, _ <br /> distribution switchboards, control panels, bus ducts, conduits and wires, <br /> panelboards, lighting fixtures, and associated electrical equipment. <br /> C. Where existing electrical facilities are to be removed, but a portion will remain in <br /> service, Contractor will do the following. <br /> 1. Remove the facilities as required, and provide terminations consisting of <br /> new conduit caps, junction boxes, and panel modifications required to <br /> maintain the remaining facilities in service and maintain the integrity of the <br /> grounding systems. <br /> 2. Remove wiring in underground duct systems. Verify the functions of <br /> wiring before disconnecting and removing and cap ducts that will not be — <br /> continued in service. <br /> 3.
