E. Compression testing shall be in accordance with ASTM D 4832 - Preparation and <br /> Testing of Soil-Cement Slurry Test Cylinders. <br /> 1.04 MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT <br /> No measurement will be made. Full compensation for conforming to these requirements, - <br /> including all the labor, materials, tools, equipment, incidentals and for doing all the work <br /> involved in this section necessary for completion of the work, as shown on the Contract Plans, <br /> as specified in the Standard Specifications, these special provisions and as directed by the <br /> Engineer, shall be considered as included in the prices paid for the various contract items of <br /> work involved and no additional compensation will be allowed. <br /> PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br /> 2.01 CONTROLLED LOW STRENGTH MATERIAL _ <br /> A. CLSM shall be a mixture of cement, pozzolan, coarse and fine aggregate, <br /> admixtures, and water, mixed in accordance with ASTM C 94 - Ready Mixed <br /> Concrete, and the following requirements: —" <br /> 1. Mix proportions as necessary <br /> 2. Entrained air content shall be between 3 percent minimum and 6 percent _ <br /> maximum <br /> 3. Water reducing agent content as necessary <br /> 4. Density shall be between 120 PCF minimum and 145 PCF maximum <br /> 5. Slump shall be as required by the Contractor's methods, but shall not _ <br /> promote segregation nor shall slump exceed 9 inches. <br /> 6. Compressive strength at 28 days: Between 100 psi minimum and 300 psi <br /> maximum. <br /> B. Cement _ <br /> Cement shall be Type II in accordance with ASTM C 150 - Portland Cement. <br /> C. Pozzolan <br /> Pozzolan shall be Type F or C in accordance with ASTM C 618 - Flyash and Raw or <br /> Calcined Natural Pozzolan for Use as a Mineral Admixture in Portland Cement Concrete. _ <br /> Pozzolon content, by weight, in Normal CLSM shall not be greater than cement content. <br /> D. Aggregate -- <br /> Aggregate shall consist of a well graded mixture of crushed rock, soil, or sand, with a <br /> nominal maximum size of 3/8-inch. One hundred percent shall pass the 1/2-inch sieve; <br /> no more than 30 percent shall be retained on the 3/8-inch sieve; and no more than 12 <br /> percent shall pass the number 200 sieve. If more than 5 percent of the aggregate <br /> passes the number 200 sieve, the material passing the number 200 sieve shall have a <br /> plasticity index of less than 0.73 (liquid limit-20), when tested in accordance with ASTM <br /> Division III-63 NEI Phase II Water and Sewer <br /> July 2007 CIP Nos. 7468, 7589, 7590 <br />
