3.03 ENGINEERED FILL <br /> Wherever engineered fill material is be placed under paved areas, it shall be placed and - <br /> compacted to a relative compaction of not less than 95 percent in accordance with Section <br /> 02200 Earthwork. _ <br /> 3.04 CLASS 2 AGGREGATE BASE <br /> Class 2 aggregate base shall be placed to a total depth as shown on Drawings in maximum 6- <br /> inch lifts. Placement, moisturizing, spreading, and compaction of Class 2 aggregate base shall <br /> meet all requirements of State Standard Specification Sections 26-1.03 through 26-1.05, State <br /> Standard Specification Section 17-1, and the details on the Drawings. <br /> 3.05 PAINT BINDER (TACK COAT) <br /> After the sub-base and aggregate base are placed, compacted, and tested, to the satisfaction of <br /> the Engineer, tack coat shall be applied in accordance with State Standard Specification <br /> Section 39-4.02. <br /> The prime coat shall be liquid asphalt, SC-70 or MC-70, conforming to the requirements of <br /> Section 93, "Liquid Asphalt," of the State Standard Specifications. <br /> Tack coat shall be emulsified asphalt, Grade SS-1, State Standard Specifications, Section 94. <br /> 3.06 ASPHALT CONCRETE - <br /> Asphalt concrete shall be placed in maximum 3-inch lifts. Storing, <br /> proportioning, mixing, equipment, spreading, compacting, and miscellaneous asphalt <br /> concrete materials and installation shall conform to the requirements of State Standard <br /> Specification Sections 39-3 through 39-7. Asphalt concrete shall be placed where <br /> indicated on the Drawings. <br /> B. Bring the crushed rock aggregate base material to a smooth, even grade at the correct <br /> distance below the top of the existing pavement surface so as to provide adequate <br /> space for the pavement.
