No measurement will be made. Full compensation for conforming to these requirements, <br /> including all the labor, materials, tools, equipment, incidentals and for doing all the work <br /> involved in this section necessary for completion of the work, as shown on the Contract Plans, <br /> as specified in the Standard Specifications, these special provisions and as directed by the <br /> Engineer, shall be considered as included in the prices paid for the various contract items of <br /> work involved and no additional compensation will be allowed. <br /> PART 2— PRODUCTS <br /> 2.01 MATERIALS <br /> A. Cement: -- <br /> Portland cement shall be ASTM C150 Type II or Type V, low alkali, containing less than <br /> 0.60 percent alkalies. <br /> B. Aggregate: <br /> 1. Aggregate shall be nonreactive and shall be washed before use. When -- <br /> sources of aggregate are changed, test reports shall be provided for the <br /> new material. The tests specified shall be performed prior to commencing <br /> grout work. <br /> 2. Fine aggregate shall be hard, dense, durable particles of either sand or <br /> crushed stone regularly graded from coarse to fine and shall conform to <br /> ASTM C33 as modified herein. When tested in accordance with ASTM <br /> C136, gradation shall be such that 100 percent by weight will pass a <br /> standard No. 8 mesh sleeve and no less than 45 percent by weight will pass <br /> a standard No. 40 mesh sieve. <br /> Variation from the specified gradations in individual tests will be acceptable <br /> if the average of three consecutive tests is within the specified limits and the <br /> variation is within the permissible variation listed below: <br /> Permissible variation in individual <br /> U.S. standard sieve size tests, percent <br /> 30 or coarser 2 <br /> 50 or finer 0.5 _ <br /> Other tests shall be in accordance with the following specifications: <br /> Test Test Method Requirements - <br /> Organic Impurities ASTM C40 Color lighter than standard <br /> Amount of Material ASTM C117 3% maximum by weight <br /> Passing No. 200 <br /> Sieve <br /> Soundness ASTM C88 10% maximum loss with sodium <br /> sulfate <br /> Reactivity ASTM C289 Innocuous aggregate <br /> Sand Equivalent ASTM D2419 Minimum 80 <br /> Division III-91 NEI Phase 11 Water and Sewer <br /> July 2007 CIP Nos. 7468, 7589, 7590 <br />
