C. Admixtures <br /> 1. Admixtures shall be compatible with the grout. Calcium chloride or <br /> admixtures containing calcium chloride are not acceptable. Admixtures shall <br /> be used in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations and shall <br /> be added separately to the grout mix. <br /> 2. Water reducing retarder shall be ASTM C494 Type D and shall be Master <br /> Builders Pozzolith 300-R, Sika Corporation Plastiment, or equal. <br /> 3. Lubricant additive for cement pressure grouting shall be Intrusion Prepakt <br /> Intrusion Aid, Sika Intraplast N, or equal. <br /> D. Water: <br /> Water for washing aggregate, for mixing and for curing shall be free from oil and deleterious <br /> amounts of acids, alkalies, and organic materials; shall not contain more than 500 mg/I of <br /> chlorides as Cl, nor more than 800 mg/I of sulfates as SO4i and shall not contain an amount <br /> of impurities that may cause a change of more than 25 percent in the setting time of the <br /> cement nor a reduction of more than 5 percent in the compressive strength of the grout at <br /> 14 days when compared with the result obtained with distilled water. Additionally, water <br /> used for curing shall not contain an amount of impurities sufficient to discolor the grout. <br /> 2.02 GROUT <br /> A. Drypack Grout <br /> Drypack grout shall be a mixture of approximately one part cement, 1-1/2 to 2 parts sand, <br /> water reducing retarder, and sufficient water to make a stiff workable mix. <br /> B. Cement Grout <br /> Cement grout shall be a mixture of one part cement, two parts sand, proportioned by <br /> volume, admixtures for pressure grouting, and sufficient water to form a workable mix. <br /> C. Nonshrink Grout <br /> Nonmetallic aggregate grout shall be Five Star Products, Inc. Five Star Grout, Master <br /> Builders Masterflow 928, Burke Company Non-Ferrous, Non-Shrink Grout, or equal. <br /> D. Epoxy Grout For Crack Repair And Dowel Anchorage <br /> Except as noted below, epoxy grout shall be a high modulus, two-component, moisture <br /> insensitive, 100 percent solids, thermosetting modified polyamid epoxy compound. The <br /> consistency shall be a paste form capable of not sagging in horizontal or overhead <br /> anchoring configurations. Material shall conform to ASTM C881 Type 1, Grade 3, such as <br /> Master Builder Concresive 1440 series, Sika Corporation Sikadur Hi-Mod Series, Adhesive <br /> Technology Corporation Solidbond 200 or equal, and shall have a heat deflection <br /> temperature in excess of 130 degrees F. <br /> Epoxy for pressure grouting/crack injection shall be a two-component, moisture insensitive, <br /> high modulus, injection grade, 100 percent solids, blend of epoxy-resin compounds.
