C. Expansion or adhesive anchors set in holes drilled in the concrete after the <br /> concrete is placed will not be permitted in substitution for anchor bolts except <br /> where otherwise specified. Upset threads shall not be acceptable. <br /> 2.02 MATERIALS <br /> Anchor bolt materials shaPl be as specified in Table A unless otherwise specified. All equipment <br /> anchor bolts and anchor bolts that are submerged or above the water tank water surface shall be <br /> Type 316 stainless steel. <br /> Table A. Anchor Bolt Materials <br /> Material Specification <br /> Steel bolts: <br /> Structures ASTM A307, hot-dip galvanized, Grade A <br /> Equipment ASTM A449, Type 1, hot-dip galvanized <br /> Stainless steel bolts, nuts, ASTM A320 Type 304 or 316 <br /> washers <br /> Expansion anchors HILTI-KWIK-BOLT II, McCulloch KWIK-BOLT, or <br /> approved equal <br /> Adhesive anchors Simpson SET Epoxy, Covert C1A Gel 7000 Epoxy, or <br /> approved equal <br /> 2.03 DESIGN <br /> Anchor bolts for equipment frames and foundations shall be designed in accordance with CBC for <br /> seismic Zone 4, or to resist a minimum lateral seismic force of 40 percent of the operating weight of <br /> the equipment, whichever is greater. This force shall be considered acting at the center of gravity of <br /> the piece under consideration. Calculations and shop drawings shall be submitted with the <br /> equipment submittal in accordance with Paragraph 05501 -1.03 and Section 01300 for all <br /> anchorage details. All calculations shall be made and signed by a civil or structural engineer <br /> currently registered in the State of California. <br /> PART 3 — EXECUTION <br /> 3.01 GENERAL <br /> Fieldwork, including cutting and threading, shall not be permitted on galvanized items. Dissimilar <br /> metals shall be protected from galvanic corrosion by means of pressure tapes, coatings or <br /> isolators. All stainless steel anchor bolts and fasteners shall be assembled with a stainless steel <br /> anti-seize compound such as molycote. <br /> 3.02 CAST-IN-PLACE ANCHOR BOLTS <br /> A. Anchor bolts to be embedded in concrete and concrete unit masonry shall be <br /> placed accurately and held in correct position while the concrete or grout is <br /> placed or, if specified, recesses or blockouts shall be formed in the concrete and <br /> July 2007 Division III-102 <br /> NEI Phase II Water and Sewer <br /> CIP Nos. 7468, 7589, 7590 <br />
