1.10 PERMITS AND REPORTS <br /> A. Prior to commencing construction of the cathodic protection system, the <br /> Contractor shall apply to the required authorities for all permits required for <br /> installation of the cathodic protection system. During installation, the Contractor <br /> shall comply with all requirements of the Contra Costa County Health Officer. <br /> B. The Contractor shall contact Underground Service Alert prior to commencing <br /> construction to locate utilities in the area of construction. Known utilities include <br /> water lines, gas lines, telephone, street lights, sewer and storm drains and <br /> overhead and underground electric. <br /> 1.11 WARRANTY <br /> A. The system warranty shall be no less than one year after system activation and <br /> shall include all costs for repair, parts and labor. <br /> 1.12 MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT <br /> A. Cathodic Protection (Bid Item 24) will be paid for on a lump sum basis. <br /> Measurement for lump sum work will be based on the percentage of work <br /> completed as determined by the Engineer, and the detailed schedule or <br /> breakdown of lump sum items as approved by the Engineer. The contract lump <br /> sum price paid for the Cathodic Protection System will include full compensation <br /> for conforming to these requirements for doing all the work involved in the <br /> furnishings, installation and testing of the corrosion control system. Work <br /> includes all work not included in another bid item, complete in place, as shown <br /> on the contract plans, as specified in the technical specifications, and as directed <br /> by the Engineer, and no additional compensation will be allowed. <br /> PART 2 - MATERIALS <br /> 2.01 GENERAL <br /> A. All materials shall conform to the requirements set forth herein or as designated <br /> on the drawings, unless otherwise specified. All materials must be new, free <br /> from defects, and shall be of the best commercial quality for the purpose <br /> specified. .All necessary items and accessories not shown on the drawings or <br /> specified herein, but which are required to fully carry out the specified intent of <br /> the work, shall be furnished by the Contractor without additional cost to the <br /> Owner. <br /> 2.02 PREPACKAGED ZINC ANODES <br /> A. The zinc anodes shall be ASTM B418, Type II. Each anode shall be cast with a <br /> steel core, and the core shall protrude from one end and shall be of sufficient <br /> length to permit attachment of a lead wire.
