B. Cables used for joint bonding and zinc ribbon anode connections shall be single <br /> conductor, stranded copper, Type CP, insulated for 600 volts with High Molecular <br /> Weight Polyethylene in accordance with the requirements of ASTM D1248, Type <br /> 1, Class C, Grade 5 and ICEA NEMA S 61 402. <br /> 2.06 EXOTHERMIC WELDS <br /> A. All cable connections to the steel casing shall be accomplished using an <br /> exothermic welding process such as "Cadweld" by Erico Products, Inc., <br /> "Thermoweld" by Continental Industries, Inc., or approved equal. Each cable <br /> shall be fitted with a copper sleeve for accomplishing the weld and cartridge, <br /> sleeves and molds for each weld shall be furnished by the same manufacturer. <br /> All materials for welding shall be sized and in accordance with recommendations <br /> in manufacturers' literature. <br /> 2.07 TEST STATION <br /> A. Ground level test stations shall be Brooks Type 1 RT or approved equal, traffic <br /> box with a cast iron lid as shown on the drawing. <br /> B. The cover shall be manufactured with the raised letters "CP TEST" or "AC <br /> MITIGATION" cast into the lid for easy identification. <br /> 1. "CP TEST" for IJTSA and ATS <br /> 2. "AC MITIGATION"for IJTSPRA, ACTS, and IJTSRA <br /> 2.08 TERMINAL BOXES <br /> A. IJTSA & ATS - <br /> 1. Terminal boxes shall be locking type, constructed of high-impact, molded <br /> Lexan plastic, Model "Big Fink", as manufactured by Cott Manufacturing <br /> Company or approved equal. The test box shall be provided with <br /> sufficient hardware and terminals for each cable as shown on the <br /> drawings. All test station hardware, including nuts, bolts and shorting <br /> straps shall be nickel plated brass. Terminal Boxes for the anode test -- <br /> stations shall be supplied with 6 amp, 0.01 ohm shunts within 1% <br /> accuracy. <br /> B. IJTSPRA & IJTSRA <br /> 1. Terminal Box: The junction box shall be constructed of molded fiberglass _ <br /> and shall be for service as required by NEMA 4X standards. The junction <br /> box shall be furnished with a stainless steel continuous piano hinge and <br /> stainless steel luggage latches with padlock hasp. All conduit entrances <br /> shall be drilled to accommodate a water tight conduit hub. The conduit <br /> entry shall be made watertight by epoxy encapsulation as shown on the <br /> drawings. The junction box shall have a phenolic panel board with the <br /> nickel plated brass bolts, nuts and washers, dead-front terminals, shunts, <br /> etc. as shown on the drawings. <br /> Division III-139 NEI Phase II Water and Sewer — <br /> July 2007 CIP Nos. 7468, 7589,7590 <br />
