C. ACTS <br /> 1. Terminal Box: The junction box shall be constructed of molded fiberglass <br /> and shall be for service as required by NEMA 4X standards. The junction <br /> box shall be furnished with a stainless steel continuous piano hinge and <br /> stainless steel luggage latches with padlock hasp. All conduit entrances <br /> shall be drilled to accommodate a water tight conduit hub. The conduit <br /> entry shall be made watertight by epoxy encapsulation as shown on the <br /> drawings. The junction box shall have a phenolic panel board with the <br /> nickel plated brass bolts, nuts and washers, dead-front terminals, shunts, <br /> etc. as shown on the drawings. . <br /> 2.09 ELECTRICAL POTTING COMPOUND <br /> A. Anode to cable connections shall be encased in epoxy resin. Resin used for <br /> sealing the connection shall be Durcon-164, manufactured by the Duriron <br /> Company; Scotchcast Resin No. 4, manufactured by 3-M Company; or CC-1 <br /> Potting Compound, manufactured by PSI Products. The anode recess shall be <br /> filled to cover the connection by '/" minimum. <br /> 2.10 CABLE WARNING TAPE <br /> A. All buried test station and anode cables shall have plastic warning tape installed <br /> a minimum of 12 inches above the top of the cables for the entire buried length of <br /> the cables. The warning tape shall be 4 inches wide and shall be yellow with <br /> black lettering with the legend "CAUTION, CATHODIC PROTECTION CABLES <br /> BURIED BELOW' in 3 inch high lettering printed at a minimum of seven foot <br /> intervals along the entire buried length of the cable. <br /> B. All buried zinc anode ribbon shall have plastic warning tape installed a minimum <br /> of 6 inches above the top of the zinc ribbon for the entire buried length of the zinc <br /> ribbon. The warning tape shall be 4 inches wide and shall be yellow with black <br /> letterincl with the legend "CAUTION, CATHODIC PROTECTION RIBBON <br /> ANODE. BURIED BELOW" in 3 inch high lettering printed at a minimum of seven <br /> foot intervals along the entire buried length of the cable. <br /> 2.11 CABLE IDENTIFICATION TAGS <br /> A. All cables in the terminal boxes, rectifiers and junction boxes shall be identified. <br /> The identification tags shall be white plastic "zip-tie" type straps with a plastic tab <br /> of sufficient size to allow the pipeline station to be written on the tab with a <br /> permanent felt tip marker. <br /> 2.12 CABLE-TO-PIPE COATING MATERIAL <br /> A. Coating material for exothermic weld connections on ductile iron or dielectric <br /> coated steel pipe shall be epoxy manufactured by the Duriron Company; <br /> Scotchcast Resin No. 4, manufactured by 3-M Company; or Propoxy 20 epoxy <br /> putty as manufactured by the Hercules Chemical Company or equal.
