All polyethylene shall be <br /> secured in place with 10-mil polyethylene tape. <br /> SECTION 16100 — SIGNAL REPAIR AND RESTORATION <br /> PART 1 —GENERAL <br /> 1.01 DESCRIPTION <br /> A. This work shall include the furnishing of all labor, materials, tools and equipment <br /> to restore and replace all traffic signal systems damaged or otherwise disturbed <br /> by Contractor. Restoration, materials, and workmanship shall be in accordance <br /> with these specifications, the City, County, and State Standard Plans. <br /> B. Replace all material and components equal to or better than existing in quality <br /> and function, and as required by the latest codes, rules and regulations of state — <br /> and local codes and ordinances, National Electrical Code, and Uniform Building <br /> Code. All replacement materials shall be new. Reuse of existing materials shall <br /> not be permitted unless otherwise approved by the Engineer <br /> 1.02 SIGNAL RESTORATION CONTRACTOR QUALIFICATIONS <br /> A. All work in connection with the traffic signal restoration and replacement including <br /> restoration of traffic detection loops shall be performed by experienced electrical <br /> contractor which has at least ten years experience and whose record of <br /> experience and quality of work are satisfactory to the City and County. The <br /> Contractor must have previously constructed a minimum of three traffic <br /> signalizations. The Contractor shall hold a current C-10 state contracting license, <br /> and supply prior to beginning work proof of the license and a list of references of <br /> previously constructed projects. <br /> 1.03 WARRANTIES, GUARANTEES, AND INSTRUCTION SHEETS <br /> A. Warranties, guarantees, and instruction sheets shall conform to the provisions in <br /> Section 86-1.04, "Warranties, Guarantees, and Instruction Sheets," of the State <br /> Standard Specifications and these special provisions. <br /> B. The Contractor shall be responsible for all work and materials and/or equipment _ <br /> installed under these Plans and Specifications. <br /> C. The Contractor shall repair or replace at his expense, any defective work, <br /> material, or equipment which may become evident within one year of the date of <br /> filing of the Notice of Completion. The Contractor shall be responsible for all <br /> damage to other materials, equipment, structures, etc., caused by defects for a <br /> one-year period if the defect is due to defective material, equipment or <br /> workmanship. <br /> D. If any part (or parts) is found to be defective in materials or workmanship within <br /> the one-year period, and it is determined by the Engineer or by an authorized <br /> manufacturer's representative that said part (or parts) cannot be repaired on the <br /> site, the manufacturer shall provide a replacement part (or parts) of equal kind <br /> Division III-167 NEI Phase II Water and Sewer <br /> July 2007 CIP Nos. 7468,7589, 7590 <br />
