stainless steel wire of the type normally used for this purpose. SST wire must be <br /> crimp connected. Twisting ends together is not acceptable. <br /> D. Engrave or machine print the tags with inscriptions as approved by the Engineer in <br /> the nameplate submittal. <br /> E. Provide temporary labels for all instruments and devices immediately when installed. <br /> Temporary labels shall be provided with 1/2" letters minimum and labeled with P&ID <br /> tag number. <br /> 2.03 WIRE <br /> A. This Section applies to all wires or conductors used internal for all electrical <br /> equipment or external for field wiring. All wires shall be properly fused or protected <br /> by a breaker at the amperage rating allowed by the NEC. <br /> B. Material - Wire shall be new, plainly marked with UL label, gauge, voltage, type of <br /> insulation, and manufacturer's name. All wire shall conform to the following: <br /> 1. Conductors shall be copper, with a minimum of 98% conductivity. <br /> 2. Wire shall be Class B stranded. -- <br /> 3. Insulation of all conductors and cables shall be rated 600 volt. <br /> 4. Insulation type for conductors smaller than #6 AWG shall be moisture and <br /> heat resistant thermoplastic NEC Type THHN/THWN, rated 90 °C in dry <br /> locations and 75 °C in wet locations, or approved equal. Conductors#6 AWG <br /> and larger shall be XHHW insulation rated 90 °C in dry locations and 75 °C in <br /> wet locations. <br /> 5. Field wire minimum AWG sizes <br /> a. #12 for wires used for individual conductor circuits 480 volt and above. <br /> #12 for wires used for individual conductor circuits 100 volt and above, <br /> except for LLC 1/0 which may be #14 AWG. <br /> b. #14 for wires used for individual conductor circuits below 100 volt. <br /> 6. Nonfield or panel wire minimum AWG sizes if properly protected by fuse or <br /> breaker: <br /> a. #14 for wires used for individual conductor circuits 100 volt and above. <br /> b. #18 for wires used for individual conductor circuits below 100 volt and <br /> above if properly protected by fuse or breaker. <br /> 7. Instrument Wiring <br /> a. Field: Instrument cables shall have 600V tray cable rated insulation and <br /> 100% individual shielded twisted pair #16 conductors with drain wire. <br /> Single twisted shielded pair (T.S.P.R.) Cables shall be Belden, <br /> Manhattan, or approved equal. <br /> b. Non-Field: Instrument cables shall have 300V rated insulation and 100% <br /> individual shielded twisted pair#18 conductors with drain wire. Single <br /> twisted shielded pair (T.S.P.R.) cables shall be Belden, Manhattan, or <br /> approved equal. <br /> Division III-187 NEI Phase II Water and Sewer <br /> July 2007 CIP Nos.7468, 7589, 7590 <br />
