6. All control and signal wiring terminations shall have the correct wire label <br /> applied prior to making connection. <br /> 7. Conduit entries listed as`GRS-PVC in the Conduit&Wire Routing Schedule - <br /> are to be "Galvanized Rigid Conduits with PVC coating" the entire length. <br /> 8. Vertical offsets and sloping of conduits are not detailed on plans,the Electrical _ <br /> Contractor shall include in his bid the price for the complete conduit run <br /> utilizing the civil & mechanical plans to measure vertical & slope distances. <br /> G. Excavation and Back Filling <br /> 1. The Electrical Contractor shall provide the excavation for equipment <br /> foundations, and trenches for conduits or buried cables. Repave any area that _ <br /> was paved prior to excavation. <br /> 2. Underground conduits outside of structures shall have a minimum cover of 24 <br /> inches except for utility conduits depth shall be as required by the governing _ <br /> utility requirements. Back filling shall be done only after conduits have been <br /> inspected. <br /> 3. Excavation and back fill shall conform to the requirements of the Earthwork _ <br /> Section of these Specifications, unless modified on plans. <br /> 4. At all times during the installation of the electrical distribution system, the <br /> Contractor shall provide barricades, fences, guard rails, etc., to safeguard all <br /> personnel, including small children, from excavated trenches. <br /> H. Wiring, Grounding, and Shielding - It is important to observe good grounding and <br /> shielding practices in the generally noisy environment in this application.The shield <br /> of shielded cables shall be terminated to ground at one end only (source end), the <br /> shield at the other end (receive end) shall be encased in an insulated material to <br /> isolate it from ground. <br /> I. Cutting and Patching -The Contractor shall do all cutting and patching required to <br /> install his work. Any cutting which may impair the structure shall require prior _ <br /> approval by the Engineer. Cutting and patching shall be done only by skilled labor of <br /> the respective trades. All surfaces shall be restored to their original condition after <br /> cutting and patching. Paint patched surfaces to match the original color. _ <br /> J. Cleaning and Touch up <br /> 1. Vacuum and clean the inside of all enclosures prior to applying power and at <br /> the end of the project prior to final acceptance. <br /> 2. At the completion of the work, all parts of the installation, including all <br /> equipment, exposed conduit, and fittings, shall be thoroughly cleaned of _ <br /> grease and metal cuttings. Any discoloration or other damage to parts of the <br /> finish, or the furnishings, due to the Contractor's failure to properly clean the <br /> system, shall be repaired by the Contractor without cost to the Owner. <br /> 3. The Contractor shall paint scratched or blemished surfaces with the necessary <br /> coats of quick drying paint to match existing color,texture and thickness. This <br /> shall include all prime painted electrical equipment including but not limited to <br /> enclosures, poles, boxes, devices, etc. <br /> Division III-217 NEI Phase II Water and Sewer — <br /> July 2007 CIP Nos. 7468, 7589, 7590 <br />
