INFORMATION TO BIDDERS <br /> (a) General Information: The City Clerk of the City of Tracy, California, will receive at the City Hall <br /> in said City until 2:00 p.m., on Thursday, August 23, 2007, sealed bids for work as described <br /> in the Notice Inviting Bids. <br /> (b) Description of Work: <br /> In general, the Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, services and traffic <br /> control necessary to complete the NORTHEAST INDUSTRIAL PHASE II WATER AND <br /> SEWER PROJECT shown on the plans, as specified in these specifications and as required by <br /> the Contract Docurnents. More specifically, this work consists of, but is not limited to the <br /> installation of water and sewer facilities at more than one location to service future City <br /> development and upgrade the MacArthur Pump Station, including but not limited to the <br /> installation of: <br /> • Approximately 12,000 If of 18-inch diameter water main by open-cut construction. <br /> • Approximately 2,650 If of 12-inch diameter water main by open-cut construction. <br /> • All water fitting, valves, corrosion control system and connection to existing water <br /> infrastructure. <br /> • Control valve and flow meter installation, electrical systems improvements, and related <br /> facilities at the NEI water reservoir site. <br /> • Approximately 2,640 If of 18-inch diameter gravity sewer by open-cut construction. <br /> • Approximately 1,430 If of 12-inch diameter gravity sewer by open-cut construction. <br /> • Sewer manholes, fitting, stub-outs and connection to existing sewer infrastructure. <br /> • New access hatches, sewage pumps, drainage pumps, piping, valves, electrical system <br /> work, and related improvements after demolition of existing facilities at the MacArthur <br /> Pump Station. <br /> • Subgrade and pavement restoration, trench dewatering and shoring, sewage <br /> bypassing, traffic control, other site restoration work. <br /> (c) Contract Documents and Proiect Site: The bidder is required to examine carefully the project <br /> site and contract documents for the work contemplated and it will be assumed that the bidder <br /> has investigated and is satisfied as to the conditions to be encountered as to the character, <br /> quality, and quantities of work to be performed and materials to be furnished, and as to the <br /> requirements of the specifications, the special provisions, and the contract. It is mutually <br /> agreed that submission of the bid shall be considered prima facie evidence that the bidder has <br /> made such examination. <br /> (d) Proposal Information.: All bids must be made upon blank forms which are bound into these <br /> specifications, as a second set included for use as the actual bid package. All bids must give <br /> the prices, both in writing and figures, and must be signed by the bidder, with the address of <br /> the legal entity of the bidder. If an individual makes the bid, his name and post office address <br /> must be shown. If made by a firm or partnership, the name and post office address must be <br /> shown. If made by a firm or partnership, the name and post office address of each member of <br /> the firm or partnership must be shown.
