responsible for providing all necessary backup documents to the Engineer for review and <br /> approval, in support of'a substitution. <br /> SECTION 6 - GENERAL PREVAILING RATE OF PER DIEM WAGES <br /> 1. Contractor is hereby notified that pursuant to Section 1770 et. seq. of the Labor Code of <br /> the State of California, the City Council of the City of Tracy has ascertained the general <br /> prevailing rate of per diem wages and the rates for legal holiday and overtime work for <br /> the locality in which the work is to be performed; for each craft or type of workman or <br /> mechanic needed to execute the Contract which will be awarded to the successful <br /> bidder. <br /> 2. The work contemplated by this contract is a public work subject to prevailing wages <br /> under California Labor Code sections 1720 et. seq. Pursuant to Labor Code section <br /> 1781, Contractor is obligated to cause the work contemplated by this contract to be <br /> performed as a public work. <br /> 3. It is required from all contractors to provide all required bonds, particularly payment <br /> bonds, for public work projects subject to payment of prevailing wages. <br /> SECTION 7 —SUPERINTENDENT <br /> The Contractor shall employ, and provide a written letter designating, a superintendent who shall <br /> be present on the job site to coordination all work with the City and neighboring property owners. <br /> Directions and information given to the Superintendent shall be considered as having the same <br /> effect as if delivered to the Contractor. <br /> City approval of the Superintendent is required prior to starting work. The City reserves the right <br /> to request an appropriately qualified replacement of the Superintendent any time during <br /> construction of the project. Contractor shall provide the Engineer with the Superintendent's <br /> telephone number, along with an after-hours emergency contact number. <br /> SECTION 8 — COOPERATION WITH OTHER CONTRACTORS <br /> Construction work by utility companies or other Contractors may be needed or may be occurring <br /> simultaneously within or adjacent to the limits of work for this project. The Contractor shall <br /> coordinate and cooperate with all other Contractors and utility companies throughout the duration <br /> of this project to avoid delays and conflicts. It is the Contractor's responsibility to coordinate <br /> his/her work and install, modify, and maintain traffic control as necessary to avoid interferences <br /> and delays on the construction activities. <br /> The City reserves the right to perform work or allow others to perform work, as necessary, within <br /> or adjacent to the limits of this project, at any time. <br /> July 2007 Division II -4 NEI Phase II Water and Sewer <br /> CIP Nos. 7468, 7589, 7590 <br />
