SECTION 12 — HOURS OF CONSTRUCTION <br /> Construction activities shall be limited to the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., unless otherwise <br /> noted or further restricted in the Contract Documents or as directed by the Engineer. No work <br /> shall be done on weekends, holidays or outside these specified hours, unless otherwise <br /> approved by the Engineer. The Contractor shall take into consideration and coordinate time <br /> constraints for special events or activities organized by the City or other agencies. No <br /> mechanical equipment, including hauling or deliveries by trucks, shall start before 7:30 a.m. <br /> and all equipment must shut down before 4:30 p.m. unless approved by the Engineer. <br /> SECTION 13 —TRAFFIC CONTROL AND NO PARKING SIGNS <br /> The Contractor is directed -to Section 7.11 of the City's Standard Specifications and Division III <br /> of these specifications for traffic control requirements. <br /> The Contractor shall furnish and install "No Parking" signs within the project limits only at <br /> locations approved by Engineer. These signs shall be placed 48 hours prior to the scheduled <br /> construction work, indicating the actual days in which no parking restrictions will be in effect. <br /> No Parking signs shall bear the "No Parking" time limits, dates and name of the Contractor. <br /> The Engineer shall approve the location and duration of no parking limits. All "No Parking" <br /> signs shall be stamped/signed by the Engineer before posting. "No Parking" signs shall be <br /> removed when no work is under construction and must be reposted 48 hours before the <br /> resumption of construction activities. <br /> For any violation of "No Parking" signs by motorists, the Contractor shall contact and coordinate <br /> directly with the City's Police Department for removal of vehicles in accordance with the <br /> California Vehicle Code. The Contractor shall also coordinate with the Police Department <br /> directly for enforcement and towing of vehicles parked in alleys. <br /> SECTION 14 - MAINTAINING PROPERTY OWNER ACCESS <br /> The Contractor shall coordinate with the adjacent property owners and businesses and maintain <br /> vehicle and pedestrian access to their properties at all times. Temporary access ramps, fencing <br /> or other measures shall be provided as needed. <br /> SECTION 15 - PRECONSTRUCTION CONFERENCE <br /> The City shall designate a date and time for the pre-construction conference once the contract <br /> has been fully executed. At the pre-construction conference, the City shall discuss various <br /> administrative procedures and project coordination issues. The Contractor should be prepared <br /> to furnish and/or discuss the following: <br /> • Sequence or phasing plans identifying the phasing of construction work and any <br /> alternative sequences for consideration. <br /> • Traffic controN plans associated with the staging plans (to be signed and stamped by <br /> a Licensed Traffic: Engineer). <br /> • Master construction schedule (to be finalized 10 days after the Notice to Proceed). <br /> • Breakdown of lump sum bid items to be used as a basis for determining the value of <br /> work completed on future progress payments. <br /> July 2007 Division II -6 <br /> NEI Phase II Water and Sewer <br /> CIP Nos. 7468, 7589, 7590 <br />
