work will be paid per Section 3.05, Extra Work", of the City of Tracy Standard Specifications. If — <br /> extra work is to be paid for on a force account basis, <br /> the payment shall be in accordance with <br /> Section 9-1.03, "Force Account Payment", of State Standard Specifications. <br /> SECTION 22 — RECORDING EXISTING CONDITIONS <br /> Existing conditions throughout the project site shall be photographed and videotaped by <br /> Contractor before starting construction. Recording shall include and show every detail of <br /> existing situation, including the current condition of the curb, gutter, sidewalk, landscaping, _ <br /> streetlights, structures near the project including face of buildings, canopies, shades, and any <br /> other features within the limits of work. Photos and videotape shall be delivered to the <br /> Engineer at the pre-construction meeting. <br /> SECTION 23 - PRESERVATION OF PROPERTY _ <br /> Due care shall be exercised to avoid damage to existing roadway improvements and facilities, <br /> adjacent property, roadside trees and shrubbery that are not to be removed, pole lines, fences, _ <br /> signs, survey markers and monuments, buildings and structures, conduits, pipe lines under or <br /> above ground, sewer and water laterals, and any other improvements or facilities within or <br /> outside the limits of construction. As ordered and approved by the Engineer, the Contractor <br /> shall provide and install suitable safeguards to protect such objects from injury or damage. If <br /> such objects are injured or damaged by reason of the Contractor's operations, they shall be <br /> replaced or restored, at the Contractor's expense, to a condition as good as when the <br /> Contractor entered upon the work, or as good as required by the Contract Documents. The _ <br /> Contractor's attention is directed to Section 5.02, "Protection", of the City of Tracy Standard <br /> Specifications. <br /> Existing striping damaged during construction within and adjacent to the project site shall be <br /> replaced with thermoplastic in accordance with Section 210, "Paint and Protective Coatings" of <br /> the Greenbook. Partially damaged striping (such as what might occur trenching through a <br /> pavement legend), shall be replaced in their entirety. <br /> Any survey monuments that are damaged or removed as part of the construction shall be — <br /> replaced by the Contractor, and a Record of Survey, as required by state law, shall be filed by a <br /> licensed Land Surveyor at the Contractor's expense. <br /> The fact that any such improvement or facility is not shown upon the Plans shall not relieve the - <br /> Contractor of his responsibility under this Section. It shall be the Contractor's responsibility to <br /> ascertain the existence of any underground improvements or facilities indicated on the plans, <br /> indicated by locating services, or as evidenced by facilities visible in the field. — <br /> If archeological remains are uncovered during excavation, earthwork within 100 feet of these <br /> materials will be stopped until a professional archeologist (SCA) and/or the Society of <br /> Professional Archeology (SOPA) has had an opportunity to evaluate the significance of the find <br /> and suggest appropriate mitigation measures. <br /> Any object to be removed and reused at other locations shall be removed with due care and <br /> delivered or stored at the project's construction storage area, or if approved by the Engineer, at <br /> the Boyd Service Center or any other designated site within the City, without cost to the City. <br /> Division II -9 NEI Phase II Water and Sewer <br /> July 2007 CIP Nos. 7468,7589, 7590 <br />
