Section 02310 <br /> HORIZONTAL DIRECTIONAL DRILLING <br /> Where: Rdrilled =drilled radius over Ldrilled <br /> Ldrilled =length drilled, no less than 50 feet and no greater than 100 feet. <br /> Aavg=total change in angle over Ldrilled <br /> In all cases, right-of-way restrictions shall take precedence over the tolerances listed above. <br /> Regardless of the tolerance achieved, no pilot hole will be accepted if it will result in any or <br /> all of the pipeline being installed in violation of right-of-way restrictions. In all cases, <br /> concern for adjacent utilities and/or structures shall take precedence over the tolerances <br /> listed above. Specification of tolerances does not relieve the Contractor from responsibility <br /> for safe operations or damage to adjacent utilities and structures. <br /> PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br /> 2.01 PIPING <br /> HDPE pipe shall conform to Section 15072, HIGH DENSITY POLYETHYLENE PIPE. <br /> Steel casing pipe shall be plain end, have a minimum yield point strength of 35,000 psi, <br /> conform to ASTM A252 Grade 2 or ASTM A139 without hydrostatic tests, and have a <br /> minimum wall thickness of 0.5-inch. The steel casing pipe shall have welded joints in <br /> accordance with API 1104. <br /> A minimum of 50% of all welded joints on steel casing pipe shall be radiograph inspected <br /> or x-rayed by a pipeline x-ray technician. Qualifications of pipeline x-ray technician shall be <br /> submitted to the Construction Manager for approval. Results of casing inspections shall be <br /> submitted to the Construction Manager for review. <br /> PART 3—EXECUTION <br /> 3.01 SITE PREPARATION AND RESTORATION <br /> Clearing, grading, and site access and preparation necessary for construction operations <br /> shall be performed as required. The District has obtained temporary and permanent <br /> easements for the Work as shown on the plans. Additional work space and access may be <br /> acquired by the Contractor only with the approval of the District and/or property owners. <br /> The expense of acquiring additional work space shall be borne by the Contractor. <br /> The work sites shall be left in pre-existing conditions or better to the complete satisfaction <br /> of the Construction Manager and governing authorities.
