Section 02310 <br /> HORIZONTAL DIRECTIONAL DRILLING <br /> 3.12 PIPE TESTING <br /> The pipelines shall be tested hydrostatically prior to the HDD pullback operation and after <br /> pulling the mandrel through the HDPE pipes in accordance with the pipeline pressure and <br /> leakage requirements specified in Section 15072, HIGH DENSITY POLYETHYLENE <br /> PIPE. <br /> 3.13 TRANSITION BETWEEN PIPELINE SECTIONS <br /> Following the pressure testing and acceptance of the HDPE pipelines, the Contractor shall <br /> secure blind flanges to both ends of each pipeline installed. The Contractor shall provide all <br /> necessary fittings and appurtenances for the transition joints. <br /> 3.13 ADJACENT UNDERGROUND UTILITIES <br /> Drilling operations will be conducted in a location which contains other underground <br /> utilities. Therefore, the Contractor must undertake the following steps: <br /> 1. Contact the local "one call" system, if available, to determine the presence of any <br /> adjacent underground utilities. <br /> 2. Verify the location of all adjacent underground utilities,including exposing any utilities <br /> which are located within 10 feet of the designed drilled path. <br /> 3. Modify drilling practices or downhole assemblies to prevent damage to adjacent <br /> underground utilities. <br /> 3.15 INSPECTION <br /> The work will be inspected and released by the Construction Manager who will carry out <br /> general inspection of the work with specific concern for proper performance of the work as <br /> specified and/or called for in the Contract Documents.
