Section 15060 <br /> PIPING SYSTEMS <br /> shall be installed within 2 feet of the concrete. Particular care shall be taken to ensure a full <br /> support of the pipe in the earth between and beyond the joints. <br /> Buried or encased pipe shall pass through wall or floor penetration before making buried or <br /> encased to not buried piping transition. Where required for resistance to pressure, sleeve <br /> type couplings and bell and spigot joints shall be restrained as specified in the individual <br /> piping sections. <br /> G. Direct drill and tap shall not be <br /> acceptable. <br /> H. Takedown Couplings <br /> Takedown couplings shall be screwed unions, flanged or grooved end mechanical coupling <br /> type joints and shall be provided as specified. Flanged or grooved end joints shall be <br /> employed on pipelines 2-1/2 inches in diameter and larger. Where piping passes through <br /> walls, takedown coupling shall be provided within 3 feet of the wall, unless specified <br /> otherwise. A union or flanged connection shall be provided within 2 feet of each threaded <br /> end valve. <br /> 3.02 PIPING IDENTIFICATION <br /> After application of the specified coating and insulation systems, exposed piping, interior <br /> and exterior, and piping in ceiling spaces, pipe trenches, pipe chases and valve boxes shall <br /> be identified with plastic markers as specified in Part 2.02A,Plastic Coding Markers of this <br /> section. Legend markers and directional arrows shall be located at each side of walls, floors <br /> and ceilings, at one side of each piece of equipment, at piping intersections, elbows and at <br /> approximately 50-foot centers. <br /> 3.03 VALVE IDENTIFICATION <br /> For all motor operated valves, stainless steel tags bearing the specified valve number <br /> stamped in 1/4-inch high letters shall be attached to the valve stem by stainless steel jack <br /> chain. In addition, plastic coding markers in accordance with Paragraph 2.02A, Plastic <br /> Coding Markers of this section with the valve number installed on the pipe next to each <br /> valve. <br /> 3.04 CLEANING <br /> A.
