Section 15060 <br /> PIPING SYSTEMS <br /> Temporary screens shall be sized in accordance with the following table. <br /> Pump suction or Maximum screen <br /> piping size, inches opening, inches <br /> 0 - 1 1/16 <br /> 1 1/4 - 3 1/4 <br /> 3 1/2 - 6 1/2 <br /> Over 6 1 <br /> Temporary screens having a maximum screening opening of 1/16 inch shall be inserted in <br /> pipelines at the suction of compressors and blowers. <br /> All temporary screens shall be provided with locator tabs which remain visible from the <br /> outside when the screens are in place. <br /> Following flushing, as a precaution, the Contractor shall maintain the screens in place <br /> during testing, initial start-up, and initial operating phases of the reliability testing process. <br /> In special cases, screens may be removed as required for performance tests. The Contractor <br /> may remove the temporary screens and make the final piping connections after the screens <br /> have remained clean for at least 24 consecutive hours of operation. Systems handling solids <br /> are exempted. Screen installation and removal shall be included in the master test log <br /> required by Section 01660, INSTALLATION, TESTING, AND COMMISSIONING. <br /> D. Flushing Plan <br /> The Contractor shall submit a detailed flushing plan. The Contractor's flushing plan shall be <br /> incorporated into the piping test plans and log specified under Section 01660, <br /> INSTALLATION, TESTING, AND COMMISSIONING. <br /> Flushing means and methods for pipes shall be proposed by the Contractor and submitted in <br /> the flushing plan. <br /> 3.07 CLEANING, TESTING, AND FLUSHING OF POTABLE WATER LINES <br /> All potable water lines shall be cleaned, tested, disinfected, and flushed in accordance with <br /> Paragraphs 3.04 through 3.06 of this section and AWWA C651. <br /> 3.08 PIPING SYSTEM SPECIFICATION SHEETS (PIPESPEC) <br /> Piping and valves are specified on individual Piping System Specification sheets <br /> (PIPESPEC). Piping services specified in the PIPESPECS and shown on the plans are <br /> alphabetically arranged by designated service abbreviations. Existing pipe systems may vary <br /> from the PIPESPEC.
