The purpose of this event is to raise funds to benefit the Children's Hospital Central <br /> California. Color The Skies Hot Air Balloon Festival Run/Walk event anticipates and will limit <br /> the number of runtwalk participants to 500. The runtwalk event will start and end at Mistlin <br /> Sports Park in the City of Ripon, and will be coordinated and conducted by a professional race <br /> management group. The Applicant has obtained permission from the City of Ripon to close <br /> the City portion of Clinton South Avenue. <br /> Temporary road closures will be managed by the proper use of signage, barricades, and <br /> flaggers per the California Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, as well as with the <br /> assistance of the Sheriffs Team of Active Retired Seniors (S.T.A.R.S) volunteers. The <br /> California Highway Patrol will control the intersections of Clinton South Avenue at North Ripon <br /> Road, and Mello Avenue at North Ripon Road. North Ripon Road will not require road <br /> closure, since run/walk participants will use the east shoulder of North Ripon Road in each <br /> direction of the route. The Applicant has indicated that the Ripon Police Department will have <br /> officers control traffic at Jack Tone Road and Clinton South Avenue intersection. The detour <br />
