Placement of HMA Overlay must not begin until the HMA used in Pavement Repair has been in place for a minimum of 18 hours. <br />3. Placement of HMA Driveways must not begin until the HMA used for Mainline Paving has been completed. <br />4. Existing highway and utility facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted, <br />5. Existing trees, shrubs, fences, mailboxes and other frontage improvements must remain in place unless otherwise noted. <br />6. Existing drainage facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted. The Contractor must conduct earthwork operations so as not to modify or obstruct the existing <br />drainage. <br />7. All Earthwork, except for final shoulder grading, must be completed prior, to placing the final layer of HMA Pavement. No Shoulder Backing material must be deposited or drifted <br />onto final layer of HMA surfacing. Where the shoulder placement exceeds 0.50' in thickness, the Shoulder Backing must be placed in two (2) or more fully compacted layers. <br />8. Shoulder Backing material at all intersections radii must receive Penetration Treatment at 0.25 GAL/SQYD. Limits of the Penetration Treatment work must be confined to <br />intersection radii plus fifty feet (50') in each direction or to the intersection conform. <br />9, The Contractor will be responsible for adequately scheduling inspection and testing of all facilities constructed under this contract with a minimum 24—hour notice to the County. <br />All testing must conform to the Standard Specifications. All re—testing will be paid by the Contractor. <br />10. The Contractor must exercise due caution and carefully preserve survey bench marks, control points, reference points and all survey stakes, and must bear all expenses for <br />replacement and/or errors caused by their unnecessary loss or disturbance. <br />11. Remove and salvage of existing monument frames and covers prior to placing new monument frames and covers. See Place Monument Frame and Cover under Summary of <br />Quantities for locations. Payment for removing and salvaging existing monument frames and covers will be considered as included in the contract unit price paid for Place <br />Monument Frame and Cover. <br />12. The road will be closed to through public traffic; however, access to local residents will be maintained at all times. Roadway, or segments thereof, that are less than 20 feet in paved width may <br />be temporarily closed to all traffic during <br />construction activities. Schedule of closure(s) must be <br />approved by the <br />Engineer. Contractor must provide a two week advance notice <br />to all affected residents, services, schools, <br />ect, of the schedule closure. Content of public <br />.J <br />notification must <br />be approved by the Engineer. <br />14. Hand grinding of <br />roadway surfacing will be required at locations where existing <br />highway and utility facilities are within the <br />Cold Plane and Pavement Repair limits.
