The asphalt concrete shall be placed <br />in two (2) layers of approximately equal <br />thickness with pavement reinforcing fabric <br />placed on existing or prepared surface. <br />2. All pavement repair must be completed <br />12 hours prior to placement of asphalt <br />concrete. <br />3. Excavated material generated by pavement <br />repair and planing asphalt concrete pavement <br />shall be thoroughly pulverized and used as <br />shoulder backing. Material shall be distributed <br />throughout the project and blended with <br />the top 6" of native material. Any excess <br />material shall become property of the <br />contractor. <br />4. All earthwork (except for final lift of <br />shoulder backing) shall be completed prior <br />to placing final layer of asphalt concrete. <br />No shoulder backing material shall be <br />deposited or drifted on the final lift of <br />asphaIt concrete surfacing. <br />5. The contractor shall conduct the shoulder <br />backing operations so as not to disturb or <br />obstruct any existing drainage. <br />6. Existing drainage facilities, fences, water <br />valves, frames and covers, sprinkler heads, <br />trees and shrubs shall remain in place <br />unless otherwise noted on the plans.
