Placement of HMA Overlay must not begin until the HMA used in Pavement Repair has been in place for <br />a minimum of 18 hours. <br />3. Core data is unavailable; however, anticipate varying layers of base and roadway surfacing materials within <br />the sectional planing depth of the existing roadway. <br />4. Existing highway and utility facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted. <br />5. Existing trees, shrubs, fences, mailboxes and other frontage improvements must remain in place unless <br />otherwise noted. <br />6. Existing drainage facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted. The Contractor must conduct <br />earthwork operations so as not to modify or obstruct the existing drainage. <br />7. All Earthwork must be completed prior to placing the final layer of HMA Pavement. No Earthwork <br />material will be deposited or drifted onto the final layer of HMA surfacing. <br />8. Hand grinding of roadway surfacing will be required at locations where existing highway and utility <br />facilities are within the Cold Plane Pavement and Pavement Repair limits. Payment for hand grinding will <br />be considered as included in the contract unit price paid for Cold Plane Pavement. <br />9. The Contractor will be responsible for adequately scheduling inspection and testing of all facilities <br />constructed under this contract with a minimum 24—hour notice to the County. All testing must conform <br />to the Standard Specifications. All re—testing will be paid by the Contractor. <br />10. The Contractor must place temporary ramps to affected business driveways at the end of each working <br />day if a drop off greater than 0.15' exists. Ramp materials must be consistent with that of the roadbed <br />(or roadway) surface that is to be placed upon. Payment for this work will be considered as included in <br />the various items of work involved. <br />11. The Contractor must exercise due to caution and carefully preserve survey bench marks, control points, <br />reference points and all survey stakes, and must bear all expenses for replacement and/or errors caused <br />by their unnecessary loss or disturbance. <br />12. Prior to commencing any work, it will be the Contractor's responsibility to have each utility company <br />locate in the field their main service lines and laterals. The Contractor must notify members of the <br />Underground Service Agency (USA) 48 hours in advance of performing excavation work by calling the toll <br />free number (1-800-642-2444) or 811. <br />13. The Contractor must field verify all existing highway and utility facilities' locations and depths. It will be <br />the Contractor's sole responsibility to locate and protect all existing highway and utility facilities, so that <br />no damage results to them during the performance of this contract. The Contractor will be required to <br />cooperate with other contractors and utility companies installing new structures, utilities and services to <br />the project. Payment for this work will be considered to be included in the various items of work <br />involved. <br />14. All new Curb, Gutter and Sidewalk must conform to the existing flowline elevations with a straight grade <br />between conforms unless otherwise noted. <br />15. Install Expansion Joints at beginning and end of new Curb, Gutter and Sidewalk and between new <br />sidewalks and existing driveways. <br />16. The road(s) will be closed to through public traffic; however, access to local businesses will be <br />maintained at all times. Road Closure signs will be placed by County forces and maintained by the <br />Contractor until the project is completed. <br />17.
