Contractor shall scarify native soil adjacent to pavement at <br />intersection radii to a depth of 6" and blend Shoulder Backing <br />material prior to compaction. Limits of this work shall be <br />confined to intersection radii plus 50 feet in each direction. <br />Payment for blending shall be considered as included in the <br />price for Shoulder Backing. <br />2. All earthwork (except for final shoulder grading) shall be <br />completed prior to placing final lift of asphalt concrete. <br />No Shoulder Backing shall be deposited or drifted on the final <br />lift of asphalt concrete surfacing. Where the Shoulder Backing <br />placement exceeds 0.30' in thickness, the Shoulder Backing <br />shall be placed in two fully compacted layers. <br />3. Asphalt Concrete shall be placed in one (1) layer with <br />pavement reinforcing fabric placed on the existing pavement. <br />4. Miscellaneous Asphalt Concrete Leveling to be provided by <br />Force Account at Watters Road, Sta. 13+75 to Sta. 14+50 (Rt.) <br />7. Existing drainage facilities shall remain in place unless otherwise <br />noted. The Contractor shall conduct earthwork operations so as <br />not to modify or obstruct the existing drainage. <br />8. Placement of asphalt concrete overlay shall not begin until the <br />asphalt concrete used in pavement repair has been in place <br />for 12 hours. <br />9. Removal of Asphalt Concrete Dike shall be paid for under the <br />Clearing and Grubbing Item. <br />10.
