Core data is unavailable; however, anticipate varying layers of base and <br />roadway surfacing materials within the sectional planing depth of the <br />existing roadway. <br />3. Placement of HMA Overlay must not begin until the HMA used in <br />pavement repair has been in place for a minimum of 18 hours. <br />4. Pavement Repair operations not to begin a minimum of 18 hours after <br />Cold Plane is Complete or as directed by the Engineer. <br />5. Existing highway and utility facilities must remain in place unless <br />otherwise noted. <br />6. Existing trees, shrubs, fences, mailboxes and other frontage <br />improvements must remain in place unless otherwise noted. <br />7. Existing drainage facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted. <br />The Contractor must conduct earthwork operations so as not to modify <br />or obstruct the existing drainage. <br />8. Hand grinding of roadway surfacing will be required at locations where <br />existing highway and utility facilities are within the Cold Plane Pavement <br />and Pavement Repair limits. Payment for hand grinding will be <br />considered as included in the contract unit price paid for Cold Plane <br />Pavement. <br />9. The Contractor will be responsible for adequately scheduling inspection <br />and testing of all facilities constructed under this contract with a <br />minimum 24—hour notice to the County. All testing must conform to <br />the Standard Specifications. All re —testing will be paid by the Contractor. <br />10. The Contractor must place temporary ramps to affected business <br />driveways at the end of each working day if a drop off greater than <br />0.15' exists. The Contractor must also place temporary ramps at the <br />edge of planing that is more than 0.15'. Ramp materials must be <br />consistent with that of the roadbed (or roadway) surface that is to be <br />placed upon. Payment for this work will be considered as included in <br />the various items of work involved. <br />11. The Contractor must exercise due caution and carefully preserve survey <br />bench marks, control points, reference points and all survey stakes, and <br />must bear all expenses for replacement and/or errors caused by their <br />unnecessary loss or disturbance. <br />12. Prior to commencing any work, it will be the Contractors responsibility <br />to have each utility company locate in the field their main service lines <br />and laterals. The Contractor must notify members of the Underground <br />Service Agency (USA) 48 hours in advance of performing excavation <br />work by calling the toll free number (1-800-642-2444) or 811. <br />13. Construction Funding Signs will be installed by County forces prior to <br />start of work. Maintain and relocate said signs as necessary, or as <br />directed by the Engineer. <br />14. All HMA used in this project must be formulated using PG 70-10 <br />asphaltic binder. <br />15. The Contractor must obtain an Encroachment Permit from the State of <br />California for all work and signage in their jurisdiction. Payment for this <br />will be considered to be included in the various items of work involved. <br />16. The Contractor must use 6" Thermoplastic Traffic Stripes within Coltrans <br />limits for edgelines and lane lines. <br />17.
