However, it appears this condition is actually methacrylate in deep grind marks.
These grinder strikes are up to 0.5 inches deep but do not expose any rebar and no defect is warranted at this time. See Photo 5
dated 11/04/2020.
There is efflorescence present in the soffits of all the bays. Some hairline cracks were also observed in the soffits. (See Photo 6
dated 11/04/2020). This condition has been previously reported and no significant changes were noted.
The deck was treated with methacrylate after the 2014 inspection.
Treated deck cracks are pattern and transverse up to 0.08 inches wide spaced as close as 8 inches on center over the piers and
abutments. It is estimated that this condition accounts for 30% of the deck area, half of which remains in Condition State 3.
The methacrylate treatment remains effective. No new cracking was noted during this inspection.
(58) (6)DECK RATING =
(36a) Rail Code 0000
330 Railing-Metal 2 126 m 126 0 0 0
JOINT/APPROACH/RAIL ELEMENT INSPECTION RATINGS AND NOTES
RAIL INFORMATION
(36b) Transition (36c) Appr Guardrail (36d) Appr Guardrail End 55Roadway Speed MPH
JOINT - APPROACH - RAIL
(330) Railing-Metal
Element DescriptionElem
No.
Env Total
Qty
Units
CS 1 CS 2 CS 3 CS 4
Qty in each Condition StateDefect/
Prot Defect
There were no significant defects noted.
Photo 1
Vertical offset in the AC approach at Abutment 1
JOINT/APPROACH/RAIL PHOTOGRAPHS
