Traffic signals and gates are located in a control panel at the southeast corner of the bridge.
Mech/Elect (06/02/2021) Some control panels are either missing labels or have labels that are fading. Some control panels exhibit
minor corrosion.
(5/9/2023) Condition still present.
See notes in Element 604.
The interlocking system consists of limit switches that regulate the sequence of the traffic equipment and movable span operation.
The navigation channel is in Span 2. The pier protection consists of 3 timber dolphins upstream of Pier 2 and 2 timber dolphins
downstream. There is also at timber dolphin along the channel bank on each side of Abutment 3.
The dolphins (total 7) appear in good condition and there was no drift accumulating at the dolphins or the pier.
Navigation lights required by Coast Guard regulation are mounted on dolphins, two upstream and two downstream of Pier 2 and one
on each side of Abutment 3.
Mech/Elect (06/02/2021) One of the navigation lights is burned out.
(5/9/2023) Condition still present.
Utility power to the bridge is delivered to the west side of the bridge and provided by means of a submarine cable to the pivot pier.
The power supply is 240 Volts AC. There is no backup generator on-site.
Mech/Elect (06/02/2021) None of the electrical enclosures have arc flash labels. Some of the electrical enclosures exhibit minor
corrosion.
The top hinge for the pole mounted electrical service equipment enclosure was missing.
(5/9/2023) Condition still present.
Single battery powered traffic gates are located at each end of the bridge. Each gate has three flashing red lights mounted along the
length of the gate arm. Alarm bells are mounted adjacent to the traffic gates.
