Create a list of all the grease fittings <br />on the bridge, and give each point a number and document the location. Go through the list and systematically grease every point on <br />the bridge and document the date in the bridge log book. Most of the open gearing needs to be cleaned and greased. <br />Install battery charge indicators on the traffic gate machinery enclosures. Periodically change out the batteries with fully charged <br />batteries. <br />Junction box (JB4) located at east side end jacks under the bridge deck has detached conduit LB body and exposed wiring. Attach the <br />conduit LB body to the junction box using a conduit nipple adapter and hub to protect the wiring. <br />Right angle drive gearbox pinion and gear are misaligned and exhibiting more contact wear at the bottom than top. Mating pinion and <br />gear should be adjusted to allow even meshing across the full gear width. <br />The drive chains for both end jack systems are loose and no adjustment is available. When operating the end jacks, the chains are <br />slapping against structural steel. Consider changing the idler mounting support frames that are riveted to the deck girders.
