Adjust the drive linkage or add shims to the seats to eliminate the gap.
Some of the bridge machinery grease fittings have been greased recently, many others have not. Create a list of all the grease fittings
on the bridge, and give each point a number and document the location. Go through the list and systematically grease every point on
the bridge and document the date in the bridge log book.
The East end wedge drive shaft coupling has a lot of lateral movement and is making a clunking sound from the two pieces of the
coupling knocking into each other as the drive shaft rotates. Monitor the movement in the coupling. If the condition worsens, replace
the coupling. **Update 5/19/20** The worm gear reducer and output shafts are misaligned causing the coupler to pinch at the top and
open at the bottom. Align the two shafts. If alignment can not be achieved, replace the coupler with a grid type, or other flexible type
coupler that allows for misalignment. **Update 6/03/21** Condition still the same.
The Southeast wedge rubs on the Notrheast wedge seat during operation. At this time monitor during operation.
Update 9/22/2015: During the inspection, it has been discovered that the Southeast wedge guide mounting bolts were causing the
rubbing of the Northeast wedge seat pad. It is recommended that the wedge guide bolts be checked for proper fitment and adjustment
be made to allow for additional clearance for skewing operation.
**Update 5/19/20** bolts are still rubbing with no adjustment possible. Investigate ways to make the east side of the swing span lighter
so not as much deflection occurs. Possibly replace the damaged deck section with lightweight concrete. **Update 6/3/21** clearance
still the same.
Dist Target
Dist Target
Dist Target
Dist Target
Dist Target
EA
EA
EA
EA
EA
Status
Status
Status
Status
Status
PROPOSED
PROPOSED
PROPOSED
PROPOSED
PROPOSED
