There was 6 inches of water in the creek below Span 3 during this
investigation. No elements were submerged. All visible elements were fully inspected. A complete hands on routine inspection of the
visible elements was performed with the aid of a drill and awl.
HISTORY
After the load rating review under work request number 12080 it was determined the bridge required a load posting based on the
deterioration of Girder 17 in Span 2 and the change of AC from 4 inches to 5 inches. A record of critical finding was written on
02/27/2024, the County of San Joaquin was notified and posted the bridge per the critical finding. On 04/01/2024, San Joaquin county
completed repairs by supplementing Girder 17 and replacing Girder 18 in Span 2. (See Photos 1 and 2 dated 04/05/2024). The temporary
load posting/restriction signs have been removed from the bridge.
SUBSTRUCTURE
The previously report debris build-up against Column 3 Bent 3 have either washed away or were removed. See Photo 1.
SAFE LOAD CAPACITY
A Load Rating Summary Sheet dated 04/08/2024 is on file for this structure. While this report does not include a check of that analysis, it
does verify that the structural conditions observed during this inspection are consistent with those assumed in that analysis. The current
rating is based on BrR 7.4.0 dated 04/08/2024.
WATERWAY
NBI Item #113 is coded as "3 - Scour Critical". There is a Scour Plan of Action dated 11/04/2005 on file. The plan calls for regular
monitoring by San Joaquin County annually and after high flow events.
The channel cross section was measured during this inspection and there was no significant change in the elevations when compared to
the channel cross section taken on 11/08/2018. It is noted that the channel cross section was measured on the right side during this
investigation to replace the channel cross section measured on the left side in 2018.
INSPECTION COMMENTARY
- NOT APPLICABLE FOR THIS BRIDGE.
CONDITION INFORMATION
SPECIAL INSPECTION INFORMATION
