This affects approximately 25% of the timbers. (See Photos 2 and 3 dated 11/29/2021). The remaining timbers have
approximately 0.5 inches of soft probing on the ends of the timbers on both sides, except the newer portion near Abutment 4. This
condition has been previously reported and no significant changes were noted.
White fungus, water staining and decay was observed on the deck soffit as follows:
In Span 2, the decay extends from the ends of the planks to approximately 14 to 16 inches in the transverse direction up to Girder 17
x 6 to 7 feet in the longitudinal direction. There are also some locations where daylight was observed through the timbers near the
interior side of Girder 18. See Photo 3 dated 11/10/2022.
In Span 3, white fungus and water staining was observed between girders 2 - 3, 7 - 9 and 15 - 16. See Photos 4 and 5 dated
11/10/2022.
These conditions have been previously reported and minor changes were noted.
It appears a new seal course material was placed prior to the 2023 inspection, leaving the previously reported broken AC overlay in
place.
Generally, there are a some transverse cracks up to 0.38 inches wide. These cracks range from half to full width of the deck and are
(58) 5DECK RATING =
