Piles 1 and 2 at Abutment 22 are exposed up to 10 inches vertically under the
abutment cap. There were no significant defects noted in the exposed piles.
No indication of pile distress was noted in any substructure element over the other hidden piles.
Non-Routine Inspection Element Notes:
Non-Routine Inspection Element Notes:
Underwater (07/12/2021): Aside from the abrasion noted below under Defect 1190, no other defects were noted for Piers 11 and 12.
The total quantity was revised from 26 meters to 9 meters to reflect the 10-foot (3-meter) wide piers at Piers 11, 12 and 13.
Underwater (07/12/2021): There was abrasion of the concrete that has exposed course aggregate, extending from the waterline to
approximately 5 feet above the waterline on Piers 11 and 12. The exposed aggregate remains secure to the concrete. The full length
of Piers 11 and 12, 6 meters, will remain in CS2.
There were no significant defects noted.
The enclosed bearing element is included to indicate the presence of bearings on this structure. The bearings were not exposed for
visual inspection. No indication of distress or alignment problems were noted in any superstructure element associated with bearings.
