There was 3.5 feet of murky water flowing quickly in the creek <br />below all spans with 18 inches of freeboard during this investigation. All elements were submerged. Probing was performed from the <br />deck using a 30 foot pole, but steep slopes and soft soil prevented access on the embankment for probing below the structure. A return <br />inspection will be performed before the next routine investigation. <br />OPERATIONAL SIGNS <br />There are "NARROW BRIDGE" signs at the approach to both abutments. See Photo 2 dated 09/22/2022. <br />WATERWAY <br />NBI Item #113 = 3, Scour Critical. A hydraulic report dated 01/17/2007 determined that this structure is Scour Critical. A Scour Plan of <br />Action dated 09/15/2009 is on file in BIRIS. The plan calls for placing riprap and a monitoring program. <br />The channel cross section dated 09/20/2018 was spot checked during this inspection. The channel cross section has degraded at <br />Abutment 1 by approximately 2 feet.
